RELATED TO JANUARY 6TH? >> MISS MEADOWS DID ASK THAT PARDON, YES MA'AM. JOHN CURTIS JOINS US NOW. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TALKING WITH US. LET'S START WITH TODAY'S BOMBSHELL OF A HEARING. YOU ARE ONE OF 35 REPUBLICANS WHO VOTED IN FAVOR OF THE COMMISSION LAST YEAR, WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION TO WHAT WE WITNESSED? >> I DID LISTEN AND I LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY. I FOUND MYSELF WISHING WE WOULD'VE HAD THAT COMMISSION. I THINK IT WOULD'VE ADDED A LOT OF CREDIBILITY TO THE PEOPLE WHO WOULD LIKE TO SEE QUESTIONS ASKED BY WAY OF A CROSS-EXAMINATION. I JUST THINK THAT WOULD'VE BEEN HELPFUL. >> YOU DON'T CONSIDER TO BE BIPARTISAN? >> I THINK EVERYONE WOULD LIKE TO SEE AT LEAST SOME PUSHBACK, SOME QUESTIONS ASKED. YOU ALWAYS WANT TO HEAR FROM THE OTHER SIDE. >> WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE LIKED TO ASK? >> I WOULD HAVE ASKED A LONG TIME AGO WHO IS IN CHARGE OF HOW SECURITY? WHY WERE WE NOT BETTER PREPARED? WHO MADE THE DECISION NOT TO CALL THE NATIONAL GUARD? ALL QUESTIONS THAT WE HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO HAVE ANSWERED >> HOW HAVE THE HEARINGS PLAYED IN YOUR COMMITTEE? >> WELL, I THINK MANY PEOPLE, IF YOU ASK THEM, AT THE TIME THEY WERE VERY INTERESTED. THEY CARE ABOUT INFLATION, THEY CARE ABOUT THE WAR, I DON'T THINK A LOT OF THEM ARE WATCHING QUITE FRANKLY. >> I WANT TO TURN OUT TO THE ISSUE OF ABORTION IN THE SUPREME COURT RULING. UTAH STATE COURTS CLEAR THE WAY FOR A LAW BANNING ABORTIONS AFTER 18 WEEKS. THEY PUT THE TRIGGER LAW THAT WOULD BAN ALL PROCEDURES ON HOLD ARE THERE ADDITIONAL RESOURCES THAT YOU ARE ADVOCATING FOR THAT COULD PINCH INSLEE HELP YOUNG FAMILIES? >> I'VE SAID EVER SINCE THIS PERIOD THAT WE MUST START TAKING QUESTIONS ABOUT THINGS ABOUT WOMEN. UNEXPECTED PREGNANCIES, I THINK IT IS TIME THAT WE ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE FATHERS. I THINK THOSE ARE OUR VERY, VERY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS AS WE TURN THIS CORNER. >> THESE ARE MAJOR ISSUES FOR ALL AMERICANS. HOW DID THEY WEIGH AGAINST EVERY DAY POCKETBOOK ISSUES? I KNOW YOU MENTIONED GAS PRICES, THAT'S SOMETHING THAT YOUR CONSTITUENTS ARE WORRIED ABOUT. INFLATION AS WELL. FOR VOTERS IN YOUR DISTRICT, HOW DOES THIS ALL PLAY OUT AND HOW IS THE WAY TO PUT ON IT? >> WE ARE VERY CONSERVATIVE STATE. I CAN'T SAY EVERYONE IS PRO LIFE, MANY ARE. WE HAVE HAD A TRIGGER LAW IN PLACE. I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE PLEASED WITH THE DECISION. BEYOND THAT, IT IS GAS PRICES AND INFLATION, AND THE ECONOMY. >> CONGRESSMAN, JUST ONE MORE QUESTION, I WANT TO CIRCLE BACK ON THE HEARING TODAY. I KNOW YOU GAVE YOUR REACTION BUT I AM CURIOUS, IF ANYTHING THAT YOU ARE SURPRISED YOU? WAS THERE ANYTHING AT GEORGE? YOU >> WELL, I MUST SAY THE TESTIMONY ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED IN THE CAR WITH THE PRESIDENT, IT IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF, I WANT TO KNOW MORE. IT ALMOST SEEMED LIKE WE WENT THERE VERY QUICKLY. I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THAT. AGAIN, THAT'S WHERE WE LOSE THE ADVANTAGE OF ADDITIONAL PEOPLE, WITNESSES, WHO MIGHT HAVE THE REPUBLICANS CALLED AS A WITNESS. >> IT SOUNDS LIKE WE MAY HEAR MORE AS THE SECRET SERVICE WILL GIVE TESTIMONY. OKAY, UTAH CONGRESSMAN JOHN,
