THE GOAL IS TO CUT THE CANCER DEATH RATE IN HALF IN THE NEXT 25 YEARS, AT LEAST BY 50%. >> Reporter: ARGUABLY THE GOAL CLOSEST TO THE PRESIDENT'S HEART AFTER LOSING HIS SON BEAU TO BRAIN CANCER, THEN VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN LAUNCHING THE CANCER MOONSHOT INITIATIVE IN 2016. NATIONWIDE CANCER DEATH RATES FALLING OVER 20% IN THE LAST 25 YEARS FROM LUNG CANCER TO LEUKEMIA, NEW THERAPIES, DRUGS AND EARLY DETECTION HAVE ALL LED TO EXCITING HOPEFUL OUTCOMES. GOING FORWARD EXPERTS THINK THE mRNA TECHNOLOGY USED TO DEVELOP THE COVID-19 VACCINE COULD LEAD TO NEW VACCINES FOR CANCERS.
