RIGHT NOW THE CDC IS WARNING OF A LISTERIA OUTBREAK IN BRIE AND CHEESE. THE SICK PATIENTS WERE TRACED BACK TO THE OLD EUROPE CHEESE, INC. WHEN THE FDA INSPECTED THEIR FACILITY, THEY IDENTIFIED LISTERIA. AS OF FRIDAY OLD EUROPE CHEESE RECALLED MORE THAN 20 OTHER BRANDS NATIONWIDE. THE FDA IS WARNING CONSUMERS TO CHECK WITH PRODUCTS WITH EXPIRATION DATES BETWEEN DECEMBER 28th AND DECEMBER 14th OF THIS YEAR. THE CDC IS ADVISING YOU TO THROW AWAY ALL RECALLED CHEESE. DISINFECT ANY OF THE SURFACES THE CHEESES MAY HAVE TOUCHED AS LISTERIA CAN EASILY SURVIVE AND SPREAD. LISTERIA CAN CAUSE SEVERE ILLNESS AND DEATH. PREGNANT PEOPLE, NEWBORNS AND THOSE WITH A WEAKENED IMMUNE SYSTEM AND THE ELDERLY ARE PARTICULARLY VULNERABLE TO LISTERIA. IT CAN EVEN CAUSE PROG PREGNANCY LOSS OR PREMATURE BIRTH. IF YOU HAVE ACCIDENTALLY EAT EN ANYTHING WITH LISTERIA, THAT CAN SHOW UP IN TWO WEEKS. AS EARLY AS ONE DAY AND AS LATE AS TEN DAYS.
