- I went to Robb Elementary as a child. This year, some of them went back into the building to get their stuff. Others could not go back in or chose not to. That's understandable. I may not want to go back in there myself. So as they're going to the new building, what are they going to have to take with them? How are they going to get started again? Let's get some of the stuff you need for your classrooms, whether they'll be just the decorations, calendars, visuals, classroom libraries, whatever they need to get started. We can work on that.

- Great evil came to our community on May 24. No one can deny this. But the outpouring of good, the response has been overwhelming in the other direction. And we are so grateful to the outpouring of everyone who has come. We've had magicians. We've had face painters, balloon twisters, caricaturists, people who make snow cones, cotton candy. The library is a very special place in Uvalde, I feel, and really a true community treasure. And we wanted to-- to be able to-- to serve in all these ways. And in a time like this, books can be such a comfort.

WOMAN: When the Uvalde community was affected, we really wanted to do something and reach out directly to them and see what they needed. So we were put in contact with the superintendent and the assistant superintendent. And we said to them, how can we help? Just give us a task. And we will make it happen, whatever it is.
And they said, we need picnic tables. They don't have enough seating for these new students that are coming in. And so we went live at noon on Saturday, knowing that we needed to hit about $15,000. And less than 18 hours later, we had hit our goal. People just want an ask. And they want to be able to contribute. And-- and that's such a beautiful thing right now. And so we're going to, you know, get these tables and have kids sitting at them this school year, which is just such a wonderful thing to immediately see that it has an impact.
