Hi. I'm Delancey. And I want to teach you how to transform your home with your own two hands. I'm just a regular wife and mom of three, living in a regular, old, dated 1800-square-foot house that I wanted to be more beautiful and functional for my family, but we didn't have the money to hire someone. So I figured, how hard could it be? Everyone has to learn-- no one is born knowing how to do power tools-- whether you learn when you're 12 or you're 35 or 65. And I think it's empowering for us to learn how to do these things instead of having to continually ask your dad for help, ask your father-in-law for help. That era is over. Welcome back to Power Tools 101. I'm Delancey. And today we're talking about saws. Here's how to change out an old outlet. Let's replace this broken faucet and drain. The best way to make over a room on a budget is paint. Oh, my goodness, paint hides a multitude of sins because it gives a whole new fresh feel for whatever space you do. Whether you're painting a kitchen cabinet, whether you're painting a wall, whether you're painting the floor, like, paint whatever you want to. It adds so much. And then something as simple as changing out an overhead light-- so many houses have these ugly lights-- but learning how to do some basic electricity can save you probably $200. You going online and you learn how to safely change out a light, you just saved yourself $200. And you now have a beautiful new light that you can enjoy. [MUSIC PLAYING] These are the top five tools every DIYer needs. So I wanted to show all the behind-the-scenes of the DIY, not just the pretty stuff but like how to actually do it and teaching women how to actually do it. And I found so many women who were almost there. They had the desire and they had the feeling of-- it can't be that hard. And so then seeing real women-- not like some TV celebrity, not some like gorgeous model person doing this-- like a real person in a real house-- not this huge mansion, with like a kitchen island the size of my minivan-- like a real person in a real house doing these projects, and it still makes a huge difference.
