>>> WELCOME BACK TO "GMA3." WE ARE BACK WITH A NEW BOOK AIMED AT THE RISING TROUBLEMAKERS AMONG US, TEENAGERS LOOKING TO CHANGE THIS WORLD FOR GOOD. >> WHEN PEOPLE HEAR THE WORLD TROUBLEMAKER THEY MIGHT THINK ABOUT THE PERSON WHO DISRUPTS THE CLASS OR THE HATER. I THINK THE TO BE TROUBLEMAKER IS TO BE A DISRUPTER FOR GOOD BECAUSE WE LIVE IN AN UNJUST WORLD. I WAS A TROUBLEMAKER EARLY ON. I WAS THE KID WHO GOT IN TROUBLE FOR HER MOUTH, ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT THAT'S NOT FAIR. I REALIZED EARLY ON, YEAH, THAT MIGHT GET ME PUNISHED BUT THIS IS WHO I AM AND WHAT I HOLD DEAR. WHEN I WROTE "RISING TROUBLEMAKER" I DID IT BECAUSE I KNOW IT'S IMPORTANT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO HEAR THIS MESSAGE THAT THEIR VOICE IS NEEDED EARLY ON. IT'S IMPORTANT THEY KNOW THEY CAN TAKE UP SPACE WITHOUT APOLOGY. AT FIVE TROUBLEMAKERS WHO ARE ALIVE, DESHONDA BROWN DUCK KET. OPRAH WINFREY. TEHRANNA BURK. BEYONCE. AND NUMBER FIVE, IS A RISING TROUBLEMAKER. HER NAME IS MARSAI MARTIN. I THINK ABOUT MY GRANDMOTHER. SHE TAUGHT ME HOW TO TAKE UP SPACE WITHOUT APOLOGY. I WANT TO SHOW PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY BLACK WOMEN IT'S OKAY TO CELEBRATE OUR WINS. IT'S NOT ABOUT BRAGGING IT'S NOT SUPERIORITY COMPLEX. IT'S ABOUT US OWNING WHAT MAKES US AMAZING AND NOT BE ASHAMED OF SAYING IT OUT LOUD. I CREATED THE SCHOLARSHIP BECAUSE I WANT TO BE PART OF SOMEBODY WHO'S GOING TO GO OUT IN THE WORLD AND MAKE THE BEST TYPE OF TROUBLE. WE WERE ABLE TO GIVE OUT TWO $5,000 SCHOLARSHIPS TO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WHO ARE GOING TO USE THIS MONEY TO GO TO COLLEGE AND BE THE BEST PEOPLE THEY'RE GOING TO BE. WHEN I TURNED 30 IS WHEN I REALIZED THAT I OFTEN USED FEAR AS A DECISION FACTOR. I HAD A YEAR OF DO IT ANYWAY. AND IN THAT YEAR I ENDED UP TRAVELING TO TEN COUNTRIES SOLO, WRITING MY FIRST BOOK. WHAT'S IMPORTANT IS THAT WE MOVE FORWARD REGARDLESS AND MAKE THE BEST OUT OF TROUBLE. WE DISRUPT, ELEVATE THE ROOMS WE ARE IN. IF WE DO THAT, WE'LL HONOR NOT JUST OURSELVES BUT THE PEOPLE AROUND US.
