DID NOT FIND IT FUNNY. THE JOE COMES AS A BILLIONAIRE FOCUS FORCES IT -- 44 BILLION DOLLARS. YOU MIGHT RECOGNIZE HER FROM HER HIT SHOWS SUCH AS GLOW, AND MAD MEN, ALISON BREE HAS PRETREAT CHARACTERS WHO ARE USED TO TAKING LIFE BY THE HORNS. OUR PHIL LIPOF HAS SPENT TIME WITH HER TO DISCUSS ROLES -- WHO STRIPPED ITALY WAS NOT LIKE SHE IMAGINED. >> YOU TAKE ALL OF THE TOP MANAGERS TO ITALY! AMBER, PACK YOUR BAGS, YOU ARE GOING TO ITALY! >> WELCOME EVERYONE. I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE OUR CEO, NICK. >> [SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE] >> I AM REALLY HAPPY YOU ARE HERE, AMBER. LISTEN, I THINK SOMETHING WEIRD MIGHT BE GOING ON. >> THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME. LET'S START RIGHT IN WITH YOUR CHARACTER, AMBER, SHE MANAGES AN ITALIAN CHAIN RESTAURANT. YOU GET A CHANCE TO GO TO ITALY AND IMMERSE HERSELF. YOU WIND UP GETTING A BIT MORE THAN YOU BARGAINED FOR. TAKE OUR VIEWERS THROUGH WHAT HAPPENS THEN. >> I REALLY DON'T WANT TO GIVE TOO MUCH AWAY BUT YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT. WE ARE FOLLOWING MY CHARACTER AMBER, WHO HAS BEEN A MANAGER AT THIS CHAIN FOR NINE YEARS. YOU GET THE SENSE THAT SHE DOES NOT MAKE A LOT OF MOVES IN HER LIFE, YOU KNOW. SHE IS VERY PASSIVE AS A PERSON. SHE KIND OF LETS PEOPLE WALK ALL OVER HER A LITTLE BIT. WHEN SHE GOES ON THIS TRIP SHE IS REALLY EXPECTING MAJOR THINGS TO HAPPEN. SHE IS THINKING SHE MIGHT FALL IN LOVE, AND HAVE A REAL LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE. BUT WHEN SHE GETS THERE, YOU KNOW, THE FIRST LEVEL IT'S JUST LIKE A FACE LEVEL OF DISAPPOINTMENT, AS THE PROGRAM IS A LOT MORE AMERICANIZED THAN IT IS BUILT TO BE. SHE NEEDS A LOT OF INTERESTING CHARACTERS THAT ARE ALSO THERE FOR THIS PROGRAM. BUT SHE ALSO MEETS THE OWNER OF THIS RESTAURANT CHAIN, A RICH, HANDSOME, CHARISMATIC OWNER. AND BEGINS A SORT OF ROMANTIC INTEREST WITH HIM, AND THEN THINGS SORT OF SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. >> YEAH. THE TWIST OF THIS IS GREAT. YOU ARE NOT EXPECTING IT. IT STARTS OUT AS A CASUAL ROM-COM, AND THEN, THAT IS WHAT IS KIND OF NEAT ABOUT IT. AND YOU COWROTE THIS! >> YES. >> WHAT IS IT LIKE TO THAN ACT AND SOMETHING YOU HAVE CO-WRITTEN? >> YOU KNOW, IT IS SO FUN, IT IS SO FULFILLING ON A CREATIVE LEVEL TO START TO RIGHT TO WORK ON SOMETHING REALLY FROM START TO FINISH, FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE IDEA AND THEN WATCH IT COME TO FRUITION WITH AN AMAZING TASK, AND SEEING WHATEVER DIFFERENT PERSON BRINGS TO IT. IT ULTIMATELY FEELS LIKE AN ADVANTAGE, LIKE I AM THE INSIDE MAN HAVING CO-WRITTEN IT AND THEN ACTING AND IT I GET TO BE THIS SORT OF ANCHOR FOR THE TONE OF THE MOVIE. ESPECIALLY IN A CASE LIKE THIS WHERE THE MOVIE IT'S TAKING A TRIP THROUGH DIFFERENT TYPES OF GENRES. AND I GET TO BE LIKE A GUIDING FORCE FOR THE REST OF THE CAST AS I AM REALLY CLUED INTO REALLY WHERE WE WANT THE MOVIE TO GO. IT GIVES ME A REAL HEAD START ON CHARACTER WORK. IT FEELS LIKE I GAVE BIRTH TO THE CHARACTER. AND A BIG PART OF MY PROCESS IS REALLY INFUSING THE STORY WITH MY OWN ANECDOTAL HISTORY. SO THERE IS A FAIR AMOUNT OF PERSPECTIVE THAT I GET TO KIND OF INFUSION TO THE CHARACTER. THEN I ALSO GET TO TAKE A STEP BACK AND SORT OF LEARN THINGS ABOUT MYSELF. >> THAT IS A GREAT COST. IT IS A CAST FILLED WITH A LOT OF FUNNY PEOPLE. A LOT OF PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW IF COMEDIANS ARE REALLY COMEDIANS AND THEIR OFF TIME AS WELL. WHAT WAS IT LIKE SHOOTING WITH ALL OF THEM? >> YOU KNOW, IT ACTUALLY WAS LIKE A REALLY THOUGHTFUL SET. ALL OF THESE ACTORS ARE SO FUNNY. BUT SO TALENTED OF ACTORS, DRAMATICALLY AS WELL, EVERYBODY CAME WITH THEIR OWN VERY UNIQUE ENERGY. SO IT WAS REALLY FUN IN THE SCENES TO WATCH ALL OF THOSE ENERGIES PLAY OFF ONE ANOTHER. AND OFFSET, WE REALLY BONDED AS A GROUP. BECAUSE WE WERE IN A BIT OF A BUBBLE. WE ARE SHOOTING THIS DURING COVID, LAST SUMMER IN ITALY, AND PEOPLE, YOU KNOW, NOBODY COULD REALLY BRING THEIR HUSBANDS OR WIVES OR GIRLFRIENDS OR BOYFRIENDS. WE WERE LIKE THIS TINY CODEPENDENT UNIT. AND WE ENDED UP SHARING A LOT ABOUT OURSELVES EARLY BONDING AS A GROUP. IT WAS VERY SPECIAL. >> IT IS INTERESTING, I THINK PEOPLE IN YOUR OWN, LIFE IN MY LIFE, AND PEOPLE WHO HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCES. WORKING THROUGH COVID WHERE YOU JUST KIND OF BOND WITH THE PEOPLE. >> IT IS LIKE YOU ARE SO EXCITED JUST TO BE AROUND PEOPLE. >> YOUR CAREER HAS BEEN REALLY IMPRESSIVE AND I THINK THAT IT SPANS SORT OF GENERATIONS OF FANS BECAUSE MY KIDS TOLD ME I HAD TO WATCH BUT JACK HORSEMAN. THEY BROUGHT ME INTO THAT WHOLE WORLD, AND I FOUND YOU THERE, AND ON SEVERAL OTHER THINGS. IT HAS BEEN A GREAT CAREER SO FAR. WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU? >> THANK YOU SO MUCH. ALSO DURING COVID, I COWROTE ANOTHER FILM WITH MY HUSBAND CALLED SOMEBODY I USED TO KNOW THAT WE MADE FOR AMAZON AND SHOT AT THE END OF THE YEAR LAST YEAR AND JUST FINISHED POST-PRODUCTION ON THAT. THAT IS A ROMANTIC MOVIE AS WELL. AND I JUST SHOT AN ACTION COMEDY IN COLUMBIA. >> YOU ARE SERIOUS? >> YEAH! >> YOU CAN LOOK AROUND WHILE YOU ARE ON THAT SAD TO SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING. >> DEFINITELY. IN THE COLOMBIAN JUNGLE, YOU KNOW, WITH JOHN CENA. IT WAS SO FUN. YOU KNOW, I THANK YOU FOR SAYING WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. I THINK THAT I HAVE BEEN REALLY LUCKY IN MY CAREER. IT HAS BEEN REALLY FUN TO DELVE INTO SOME DIFFERENT GENRES UNDER DIFFERENT KIND OF THINGS LIKE THAT. SO I AM JUST KIND OF, I AM EXCITED TO SEE WHAT THE NEXT THING IS. I HAVE NO IDEA. >> I THINK THAT IS REALLY COOL. I THINK THAT IS HOW YOU FOUND YOURSELF IN THE COLOMBIAN JUNGLE WITH JOHN CENA. BECAUSE YOU TAKE DIFFERENT PROJECTS! WHICH IS GREAT AS AN ACTOR. >> TAKE SOME RISKS, RIGHT.
